Piece of junk, but there is hope....

My cats LOVE this toy. But in the span of 2 days, I had to return 3 of them because they kept breaking. This product is a total piece of junk. But there is hope!
Solution: Buy a child's fishing reel - those plastic ones with characters on them (maybe 10 bucks, max) and the replacement Catfisher Lures, or any sort of catnip mouse. Attach catnip mouse to child's fishing reel, and enjoy. Our Finding Nemo children's reel has lasted over a year, and we have to hide it when we aren't playing!

If I could give it NEGATIVE numbers, I would.

I only spent $10 on this at my local Pet Expo, and it wasn't even worth that. My cats got to play with it for about 10 minutes, then the line tangled up, snapped, and now I can't get it back together. Definitely not worth more than maybe $3.00. The saddest part is that your animal will LOVE it, and then sit next to you on the couch watching you try to fix it for 2 hours. Do NOT buy this product, get a children's pole instead and just tie a toy to the end.

Do NOT leave this toy with your cat unattended

Like another reviewer stated, my cats LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this toy. But, functionally, it's horrible. The line comes off the reel (this is internal so you have to try to take it apart to fix) and then it's impossible to reel the lure back. We also managed to break the rod into two pieces at which point you really can't cast the lure anymore.
I've accidentally smacked my curio cabinet numerous times with the weighted lure (obviously I don't have good hand and eye coordination) and am glad I haven't broken the cabinet, yet.
Most importantly, do NOT leave your cat unattended with this toy available as they will chew through the line and, if they swallow the line, this can lead to severe, and possibly fatal, intestinal blockages.
I'll probably buy another one because my cats do adore this but it will be with the full knowledge that it won't last long and I'll be very careful to remove it when I'm not actively playing with my cats.
