I have spent hundreds of dollars on amazon throughout this fishing season and I have to say, this makes me sad. When I first recieved this pole I thought "man, I hit the mother-lode!" looks beautiful out of the box, seems to work great. By the end of day 1 fishing with it the reel started to fail. The lock which prevents it from turning the opposite direction started breaking right away. You try to hook a fish and the thing launches backwards spinning uncontrollably, losing you your fish, half your line, and sometimes, your lure. By the end of day 3 it was completely busted, and did not lock at all. NOTE - I did nothing aside from the normal fishing with it. I did not drop it, I did not put it in the water, it just broke. I replaced the reel with a Shakespeare, which is a bit more expensive but WORKS AMAZING! spend the extra cash for something that will last. Hope this helps.

quick to arrive and item in excellent shape!

My boyfriend has wanted this reel and rod for a long time. We could never find it in stores around our area, but i gladly found it on amazon.com. The company that sells this item through amazon shipped in a timely manner and with great packaging. I would definitely order from them again!

Missing part

I bought two of these rod and reels. One was shipped fine but the other was in pieces: Spool/drag knob was removed and the sprocket inside the spool was missing. I sent it back hoping to get another! Fishing trip is in 3 days!
